| Professional Experience: | I began practicing in 1994 in Chicago working for a medium sized civil litigation firm. I served as defense counsel for insurance companies and self-insured entities in lawsuits involving significant injuries and wrongful death. I also handled appellate and insurance coverage matters. In 1997, I relocated to St. Paul and worked briefly for a large local law firm, in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance coverage and personal injury. In August 1997, I was recruited to work back in Illinois as house counsel for a national insurance company handling cases involving wrongful death, products liability, personal injury and insurance coverage disputes across Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. In 2001, I opened my own practice. Since that time I have represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of matters, including wrongful death claims, medical malpractice, products liability, premises claims (falling accidents), auto accidents, assault claims, insurance coverage issues, contract disputes and various other civil and criminal matters. In 2008, I joined Elizabeth Wrobel to form Wrobel & Smith, PLLP. |
